International Women's Day
International Women's Day celebrated with enthusiasm in Vasundhara Hospital
A special program was organized on the occasion of International Women's Day in Vasundhara Hospital, in which all the female housekeeping staff, IPD nurses and doctors of the hospital participated with full enthusiasm. The objective of this program was to promote women's health, hygiene and empowerment.
Special session on women's health
Senior gynecologist and obstetrician Dr. Renu Makwana shared important information related to women's health, nutrition and hygiene. She told that lack of hemoglobin can lead to many health problems in women, due to which the body does not get the necessary oxygen and a condition like anemia can arise. She advised regular consumption of iron-rich diet like dal-palak, beetroot, kanji etc. and emphasized on the use of iron pots for cooking food, which keeps the hemoglobin level better.
Dr. Makwana also highlighted the importance of HPV vaccine, which helps in preventing cervical cancer. She advised women to undergo Pap smear tests and mammography so that early detection of breast and cervical cancer is possible and appropriate treatment is possible in time.
Mental Health and Work-Life Balance
At the event, Counselling Psychologist Mrs. Aradhana Kaul Kathju taught the women the art of balancing home and workplace. She emphasised that a woman's life is full of many roles—mother, sister, wife, daughter and a professional. While fulfilling all these responsibilities, many times women forget to prioritise themselves, which can affect their mental and physical health.
She explained that family support and a strong support system helps women to perform their tasks more effectively. She suggested some important measures to maintain work-life balance, such as time management, prioritising tasks, taking time out for self-care and not being hesitant to express their feelings. She said, "When women learn to prioritise themselves, they will empower not only themselves but also their families and society!"
Entertainment and Felicitation Ceremony
To make the event interesting and memorable, team-based sports competitions were organized in which everyone participated with full enthusiasm. Apart from this, a selfie point was also set up where the women captured the happy moments on camera.
On this occasion, Hemalatha, Bali Bai and Geeta were felicitated with appreciation certificates by Dr. Renu Makwana for their excellent performance and discipline.
The event not only motivated women to improve health, nutrition and lifestyle, but also boosted their confidence, collective engagement and empowerment. The event gave the message that no obstacle can stop us, no goal is far from us! We have all the power, confidence and potential within us. When we are determined, we can do everything, we can do anything!
Vasundhara Hospital took a positive and inspirational initiative towards the overall development of women through this event.
